The governor recently called Brandon "The Art and Soul of Vermont" - and for good reason. In and around town you'll find folk artists, fabric artists, computer artists, super realists, nonrepresentational expressionists, workers in traditional decorative arts, watercolor, jewelry, pottery, glass, sculpture, print makers, photographers...Well, you get the idea! Our little town has become one of the most exciting places to experience art in the state of Vermont - if not the entire Northeast!

I am an artist. I always said I would be one when I grew up. Thinking of the stages through which we pass enroute to becoming/being an artist....Climbing that long, inward ladder of introspection, as we hone skills and accumulate tools with which we create. Representational, or the varying degrees of abstraction; performance, song, dance, sculpture... It's all about the message. See more of her fine work at her gallery, Liza Myers Gallery.

Jewelry can be something more than ornament. It can be a powerful talisman, a token of sentiment, or a symbol of love. It can inspire, comfort, or hold a special memory. Since I was a child I collected the seashells and stones that I now incorporate into my jewelry. Now I search the shores of Lake Champlain for stones, natural buttons or arrowheads. Every piece of jewelry I create is unique....but the true value of a piece of jewelry is the special meaning it keeps for the wearer. You can view Rebecca's work at her studio, Rebecca Zelis Metalsmithing, in the renovated Grainary in Brandon.
